Even though the entire state of Iowa and much of Minnesota  is under a Heat Advisory on Wednesday, the city of Independence has completely isolated itself from the heat as the National Weather Service in Des Moines was reporting that at 6:35 PM in Buchanan County it was 49 degrees with a dew point of 42.
