For the last day of April, things are looking good for the most part. We do have a chance for some strong storms late tonight, below is the latest from the National Weather Service in Des Moines.
Thunderstorm chances increase once again by late afternoon and through the evening hours. Expect storms to initially develop over western Iowa and track east. Some of the storms will likely be strong to severe and capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. A few instances of hail greater than 2 inches in diameter and wind gusts to 80 mph may occur. A few tornadoes are possible as well. Those with outdoor interests should pay close attention for quickly changing weather conditions and have multiple ways to receive warning information!
