It’s been a tough stretch for country music, last week we lost Kenny Rogers….Now Joe Diffie.
Two days after confirming he tested positive for COVID-19, Joe Diffie, 61, died on March 29, according to a statement from his PR company: “Grammy-winning country music legend Joe Diffie passed away today, Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19). His family requests their privacy at this time.”
Joe topped the charts with “Pickup Man,” “Home” and more in the 1990s. In 2019, Joe celebrate his 25th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
He recently released his new vinyl album, Joe, Joe, Joe Diffie, which features many of his past hits.
Joe performed at Musikk Fest in Spring Grove the May of 2018 and put on a great show as usual. Days before Kathy and myself had a chance to interview Joe over the phone. He was a super nice guy and a great interview. You can listen to that conversation below and enjoy some classic Joe Diffie videos.
