New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has never been shy about mouthing off to umpires and getting thrown out of games – but during Monday’s tilt against the Oakland A’s, he got thrown out without saying anything. Boone did have some words for home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt in the first inning and was warned that he’d be tossed if he didn’t keep his mouth shut. Just a few seconds later, a fan seated right behind the Yankees dugout started heckling Wendelstedt, who must have thought it was Boone. So he ejected the manager. Boone was understandably upset, arguing that he didn’t say anything, but Wendelstedt told him, “I don’t care who said it, you’re gone.” Boone later called the ejection “an embarrassment.”
“I don’t care who said it. You’re gone!”
Not usually how that works but at least we got an awesome hot mic situation out of this Aaron Boone ejection pic.twitter.com/EX2xUsjtKA
