The CDC released new COVID guidelines today aimed at returning to a more normal life and answering some very popular questions.
The new guidance states that people who have been fully vaccinated may gather with small groups of people without wearing masks or physical distancing, even if those other people haven’t had their shots. The CDC’s statement provided an example, explaining, “fully vaccinated grandparents can visit indoors with their unvaccinated healthy daughter and her healthy children without wearing masks or physical distancing, provided none of the unvaccinated family members are at risk of severe COVID-19.”
The CDC added that the updated guidelines do not suggest that fully vaccinated people can go back to pre-pandemic life and they should continue washing their hands, wearing a mask in public and keeping social distance.
#COVID19 vaccines are an important tool for stopping the pandemic.
As of March 8, more than 60 million people in the US had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Of those, more than 31 million had received two doses.
