Movie theaters have been struggling to stay afloat over the past few years as people are opting to watch movies at home. Theaters are expensive, movies are getting longer, and it’s just more comfortable to be on your own couch. So, in an effort to make up for lost revenue, many theater chains have been offering more food options in the hopes of attracting more customers and bringing in more revenue. Some theaters, according to The Hollywood Reporter, are even toying with the idea of adding an intermission to longer movies. The idea is that movie-goers will use the 10- or 15-minute break in the middle of a film to use the bathroom and load up on more snacks. The film production companies, however, are totally against the idea as they worry the break will ruin the film.
