This is crazy! I love looking at maps! -EK
When severe weather hits, TV stations show maps so you can see if the storm is headed your way. Unfortunately, most people can’t read a map. A recent survey found that if given a blank map with no labels or highways and just county and state lines, 60 to 70 percent of the people couldn’t draw a dot within 50 miles of their house. Once again, technology is to blame as smartphones with GPS systems give us directions and we’ve lost the ability to read maps. That means if severe weather is headed your way and you can’t identify where you live on a map, you could be in big trouble.
