Thanksgiving traditions…Turkey, stuffing, pie, family, football, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! But something might be missing this year, the balloons!
The big storm that is suppose to cause headaches around here is expected to move Northeast and cause windy conditions along the east coast including New York City.
The rules are that they can’t fly the balloons if sustained wind speeds are above 23 miles per hour or if gusts are more than 34 miles per hour. The latest forecast for parade time in New York, sustained winds between 18 and 21 MPH and gusts potentially reaching 40 MPH.
The balloons did not fly back in 1971, because of potential bad weather. We shall see what happens. -EK
