Lightning appears to strike on cue near outdoor wedding

A lightning bolt appeared to strike right on cue as a Massachusetts couple was exchanging vows during their outdoor wedding ceremony over the weekend.

A video that was captured during the vow exchange shows the groom, Aaron Sawitsky, saying, “Let’s face it, 2020 has not been the best year,” just seconds before a bolt lightning struck dangerously close behind them.

Aaron tells WHDH-TV of the lightning strike, “The timing was pretty epic. And it so perfectly captures the experience of 2020 so far. So, I think the only thing you can do is look at it and be like, ‘Yup. Yea that’s 2020.’ And kind of laugh.”

Sawitsky shared the video on Instagram along with the caption, “Mother nature has one wry sense of humor. Thankfully no one got electrocuted and we finished our vows before the rain started!”
