Joey Chestnut and Kobayashi Will Face Off on Labor Day

Longtime rivals Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi will compete in a hot dog eating contest on Netflix on September 2nd. The event, titled Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef, will feature the 16-time champion Chestnut against the six-time champion Kobayashi. This follows the news that Chestnut was banned from the Nathan’s July 4th contest due to a deal with Impossible Foods. Both competitors expressed excitement for the showdown, with Chestnut acknowledging Kobayashi as his fiercest rival and Kobayashi is determined to defeat Chestnut before retiring. This event marks their first face-off since 2009 when Chestnut won in a sudden death eat-off. (COS)
