Home Alone Fans Shocked By Grocery Price Increase

Some fans of the Christmas movie “Home Alone” are reacting with shock after finding out how much money little ‘Kevin McCallister’ (played by Macaulay Culkin) would have to come up with, if he were to go grocery shopping today. After being left alone for the holidays in the 1990 film, the 8-year-old famously went to the local supermarket, purchasing a large haul of food and household items for under $20. What was on his list? A half gallon of milk, a half gallon of orange juice, a TV dinner, bread, frozen mac and cheese, laundry detergent, cling wrap, toilet paper, a pack of toy army men (“For the kids”) and dryer sheets, which came to a total of $19.83. Someone did the math for the same shopping list last year, and came up with a total of $44.40. This year? Try a whopping $72.28.
