Extreme Cold Warning Tonight and Tomorrow Morning

EXTREME COLD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM CST TUESDAY…

* WHAT… For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below expected.

* WHERE…In Iowa, Mitchell, Chickasaw, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Fayette, Clayton and Howard Counties.  In Minnesota, Dodge, Fillmore, Mower, Winona and Houston Counties.

* WHEN…For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 9 PM CST this evening.  For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 9 PM this evening to 10 AM CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.  Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
