Drunk Tennessee Man Told Police His Name Was Garth Brooks

A Tennessee man is under arrest after he got drunk, assaulted deputies, and then told them he’s Garth Brooks.

Knox County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about an intoxicated man screaming for help outside a Hobby Lobby store, but when they arrived he was already gone. But employees at a nearby Lowe’s said he was inside their store’s restroom yelling. Deputies found him there and noticed he was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcohol.

As they led him out of the store, he continued to yell and scream profanities and tried to get away from them. He told them his name was Garth Brooks, but deputies used facial recognition software to confirm that he was not in fact Garth Brooks and was actually 47-year-old Truman Wayne Chapman and he has several outstanding warrants. He was arrested and ordered to stay away from Hobby Lobby. (WVLT-TV)
