Zoos are continuing the Valentine’s Day tradition of naming animals and critters after exes — some of which will be eaten by other animals. The Bronx Zoo is bringing back its Name a Roach campaign, which lets you name a Madagascar hissing cockroach for $15, and encourages people to name them after exes, friends, or loved ones. They’re also offering Name a Roach gift bundles that include virtual encounters with the roaches or roach-themed merchandise. Similarly, Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo is bringing back its annual Name a Cockroach After Your Ex campaign. Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley Zoo and the San Antonio Zoo in Texas are also offering to name creepy crawlies after someone you love or dislike.
