Icing Tonight North of I-94, Snow Wed Night-Thu Morning

Freezing rain will fall across much of northern Wisconsin later tonight, locally impacting locations north of Interstate 94. Untreated roads and other cold surfaces will become ice covered. Travel will be slippery to hazardous, likely including the Wed morning commute. Downed branches and maybe some localized power outages could occur. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect tonight for Clark and Taylor Counties.

There will be periods of rain on Wednesday and then the precipitation will change over to snow Wednesday night and continue into Thursday morning. A few inches of wet snow are possible, mostly on cold, grassy surfaces.

  • Impacts: Potential for slippery travel where snow accumulates on roads. Reduced visibilities at times.
