Flood Warnings For Northeast Iowa

Flood Warning for Fayette County in northeastern Iowa, Southwestern Winneshiek County in northeastern Iowa, and Eastern Chickasaw County in northeastern Iowa…Until noon CDT Wednesday. At 534 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated rainfall of 4 to 6 inches has fallen since yesterday with some rivers and streams continuing to rise. Additional rainfall around half an inch is possible today.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Turkey River at Spillville.
* until Thursday afternoon…Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 4:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 11.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…The river will continue rising to near 11.6 feet by
today. The river will fall below flood stage this evening.

Forecast flooding increased from Minor to Moderate severity…
The Flood Warning continues for
The Turkey River at Elkader.
* until Saturday morning.
* At 3:45 AM Wednesday the stage was 11.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…Rise above flood stage by this morning and continue to
rise to near 18.1 feet by Thursday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by Friday.

* At 4:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 13.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…Rise above flood stage by today and continue to rise to
near 21.5 feet by Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood
stage by Friday morning.
* Impact…At 19.0 feet…County Road X3C at the south end of Garber
becomes inundated.
