T-Bock’s Sports Bar & Grill Decorah will be hosting a free-will “grab-and-go” takeout pancake breakfast this Saturday, April 11 from 9-11am. Stop by to pick up a carry out breakfast of pancakes and sausage, and if you are able, please make a free-will donation to the Mutual Aid Fund, recently established by the Mutual Aid Network and Decorah Area Faith Coalition.
The Mutual Aid Network is a recently formed organization created to assist community members in need during COVID-19. Through a partnership with the Decorah Area Faith Coalition and Northeast Iowa Community Action, this fund has been set up to benefit area residents adversely affected by the pandemic. Checks can be made payable to First Lutheran Church, earmarked for the “Mutual Aid Network.” Cash donations will also be accepted.
Families in need of assistance with rent, emergency dental, utility assistance, or who have food security issues, can contact Northeast Iowa Community Action. They are the organization who will be disbursing the Mutual Aid Network funding directly to families who qualify for this type of assistance.
In this unprecedented time, when so many people are feeling the effects of layoffs, business closures, and financial worry, we felt we had to do something to shine a light, to let people know they are not alone, to help out. By offering a meal, by suggesting a way others can contribute for the greater good, is how we want to help.
