    • According to a new Delta Dental poll, the tooth fairy is leaving a lot less this year. The average value of a lost tooth declined by 14% in the last year – from $5.84 to $5.01. Kids in the South get the most per tooth, at an average of $5.71. Kids in the West got $5.69 from the tooth fairy, followed by $4.59 in the Northeast and $3.46 in the Midwest.
    • Despite the decline in monetary giving, since the poll’s inception in 1998, the average cash gift left by the Tooth Fairy has increased 285% from $1.30 to $5.01 per tooth.
