Accumulating Snow
- What: Wet snow accumulations of 2 to 6″, with locally higher amounts possible across central Wisconsin
- Where: Highest amounts for central Wisconsin with lower amounts extending west of the Mississippi River
- Timing: This afternoon through Wednesday morning
- Impacts: Roads will become slushy or snow covered and slippery, especially along colder ridge tops, within periods of heavier snow, and overnight. Reduced visibilities at times. Commute may be impacted. Some blowing and drifting possible, especially while snow is falling
- ACTION: Anticipate slippery travel and reduced visibility, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination
Gusty Winds
- What: Strong northerly winds
- Where: Areawide
- Timing: North winds gusting 35 to 50 mph late tonight and Wednesday
- Impacts: Travel will be difficult at times, especially for high profile vehicles. Highest impacts in rural areas. Localized power outages and tree damage possible.
- ACTION: Be prepared for travel impacts. Slow down
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4:00 PM this afternoon to 7 AM Wednesday for parts of Southwest Wisconsin, including Vernon County.
