NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – March 26, 2024 – If you drive on Iowa 76 to reach McGregor you will need to be aware of road closures on Iowa that begin on Monday, April 1, until mid-October, weather permitting, according to the Iowa DOT’s New Hampton construction office.
Crews will resume reconstruction work on Iowa 76 for this two-year project. You will follow detour signs on U.S. 18 and Iowa 76 to reach McGregor. Signs will be installed throughout McGregor to help direct you to businesses and parking.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
