“We have HISTORY!” Let’s Keep it ALIVE!

The Harpers Ferry Area Heritage Society is celebrating their 10th Anniversary with a soup luncheon on Saturday, November 4, at the Community Center in Harpers Ferry from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  A free will donation will be accepted, and a Program titled “Power of Place” will be presented at NOON featuring Susan Snow, Superintendent of Effigy Mounds National Monument with 20 years’ experience in serving in the National Parks Service and 40 years’ experience in historic and prehistoric archeological sites.

Robert Vavra, Captain of the Maiden Voyage, a Mississippi River Excursion Boat, grew up on the Mississippi River and will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow in his footsteps from yesterday, telling stories of commercial fishing, clamming and turtle trapping days on the Mississippi River.

We have accomplished a great deal thanks to all the donors and volunteers, and we want you to help us celebrate our Past, Present & Future.  Please plan to attend.
