Strong, gusty winds are expected to spread across the area through today. The strongest gusts will likely exceed 40 miles per hour, with some locations gusting over 45 miles per hour. The impacts from a wintry mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain could be amplified by the strong winds. Expect difficult travel, unsecured objects could be blown about, and power outages are also possible.

* WHEN…Winds increase steadily this morning with the strongest winds during the afternoon. Winds decrease Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
