On Saturday (May 8th), two students from University of California Santa Barbara went out into the Pacific Ocean on a boat they’d constructed out of two kiddie pools, plywood, duct tape, and 20 five-gallon buckets and ended up needing to be rescued. The call for help came from someone onshore who spotted them thanks to strobe lights they had on-board their vessel. Rescue crews noted on Twitter that alcohol was not a
factor, and there were no injuries to report.
If only they had some Flex Seal….
